ABOUT US

Clare & Sons BBQ is a family-owned Texas craft barbecue company founded by father and sons. The father, Robert “OX The Old Man” Clare, comes from "old school" Texas barbecue culture, having learned the art of barbecue at a young age. In 1968, at the age of 13, The Old Man started working at Bob White's BBQ House in Dallas, Texas, where he began his passion and learned the process of smoking and cooking meat.
Throughout his life, The Old Man continued to barbecue and pass down his knowledge and love of the craft to his sons: Matthew, Spencer and Ethan. As the sons grew older and life spread them across the state of Texas, they became interested in competition barbecue to bond with their father and honor family tradition. From 2018 to 2021, The Old Man and the Clare Sons competed in various barbecue competitions throughout the state, honing their skills and winning numerous awards for their delicious barbecue.
In 2022, the Sons relocated around the DFW Metroplex, and Clare & Sons BBQ was founded with the goal of bringing high-quality barbecue to a wider audience. After selling out of several pop-up events, the company quickly gained a loyal following - thanks to their fusion of old and new-school barbecue techniques and use of the finest ingredients to deliver the highest quality smoked meats and treats in Texas.
Today, Clare & Sons BBQ offers classic Texas barbecue staples like brisket and ribs, in addition to a variety of unique and innovative menu items that showcase their creativity and passion for the craft. Follow along on Instagram to see their journey!
